RICE is mnemonic used for four elements of treatment for soft tissue injuries like muscle strain ,sprain or tear .

R stands for - rest

I stands for - ice

C stands for - compression

E stands for - elevation

RICE :-

Rest the injured area for 48hours

Ice for 20 mins at a time ,4-8 times a day

Compress to help reduce swelling

Elevate the injured limb 6-10 inches above heart .
