If you were going to conduct a research study about factors that contribute to adolescents’      body image and self-esteem:

1. For what terms will you need conceptual and operational definitions?

I will need conceptual to describe the topic of the research study and operational definition to measure the variable of the concept. i.e the level of self-esteem and body image among adolescents.

2. What empirical indicators would be appropriate?

The empirical indicator of recording the data of self-reporting of adolescent about their self-esteem and body image would be greatly appropriate.

3. Can you identify an appropriate theoretical framework or model to use?

The appropriate theoretical framework of the theory of perceived attributes will be helpful to support the data of adolescent boys and girls self-esteem.

Do you expect to use deductive, inductive research, or mixed-method approach?

Inductive research is more appropriate for this research study. Inductive research helps to comes to a general conclusion from specific instances. In this study, inductive research helps to observe the factors that contribute to adolescent body image and self-esteem.

5. What findings might you project?

I can identify different findings between different groups. The findings also project the factors which contribute to higher self-esteem among adolescents and limitation in perceiving of body image.

How will your study contribute to nursing knowledge and practice?

This study improves the nursing knowledge of reproductive health and influences positive clinical practices when dealing with adolescent health. It impacts to provide a positive interdisciplinary approach in regards to adolescent health. It helps to improve positive reproductive health on adolescent girls.

7.  Nurses in what practice settings could be most interested in your study findings?  

Nurses in community health settings and school health settings are more beneficial by this study findings.
