Spring Help!!!

Question:

The cannon is actually a 3 ft diameter tube with a big stiff spring inside which is attached to the bottom on the tube.A small seat is attached to the free endof the spring. The ringmaster, one of your soon to be ex-friends, gives you your instructions. He tells you that just before you enter the mouth of thecannon, a motor will compress the spring to 1/10 its normal length and hold you in that position. The cannon will then be raised to an angle such that your speedthrough the air at your highest point is 10 ft/sec.When the spring is released neither the chair or you will touch the sides of the 12 ft long tube.Withperfect aim you will fly through the air over a 15 ft wall into a net.You determine that the spring is 10 ft long and when you hang from the free end of thespring it stretches2 ft.Is it possible for you to make it over the wall??Also need to find how high of a starting postion youneed to be atyour highest point?

If the person freely hanges to the spring theelongationof the spring be = xlet m be the mass of the person ,mg = -kxk = force constant of the springwhen the spring is compressed to x to project himthe kientic energy transfeered to the personmv^2 / = kx^ / 2 (spring potentil energy )from the above equation we can subject out velocityvwhen ihe is projectred with velocity v at an angleθ with the horizantal the range of the projectile willbeR = v^2 * sin2θ / gand the maximum heigh reached by the personH =v^2*sin2θ / 2gfrom the above relations we can solve for the requiredparameters ..
