Question:

For Question 1 and 2 because they are related please!

Homework for Lab 7: Electromagnetism In this sequence of questions, you'll diagram the sequence of events that causes the coil from the previous problem to rotate counterclockwise continuously (i.e., you're going to diagram how & why the motor that you built in lab works). 1. [4Pt] A loop with a current in it is near a magnet with its North Pole pointing up as shown. On the diagram, draw in: a) the magnetic field lines created by the strong disk magnet, the directions of forces on the loop, and Figure 1: Initial loop configuration (to) b) c) indicate whether this loop will begin to rotate clockwise, clockwise, or not at all. 2. [4Pt] A short time later, the loop from the first problem has rotated and is in a new configuration, as shown. Draw the direction of the current AND the same three things (parts 1a, 1b, and 1c for the first problem) for the new configuration of the coil. 3. [14Pt] The next seven figures follow the loop through the rest of one complete counterclockwise rotation. For each figure, draw in the direction of the current in the loop (if it exists), the magnetic field created by the strong disk magnet, and the directions of forces on m the loop (if they exist). Make sure that your drawing matches what we did in lab. In other words, there are times when the current is not flowing in the loop. In your diagrams below, select the times when there must not have been current flowing in a way that keeps the loop spinning counterclockwise as much as possible.)
