If a women's mother had a blood type O, then the women must have atleast one O allele in her genotype,
So the genotype of the women should be AO while the genotype of the man is clearly AB.
So when you cross these, AO x AB,
the possible offsprings are AA, AB, AO and BO.
So the probability of a A blood type is 1/2 as AA and AO will both give A blood phenotype. The probability of having a girl as her children is also 1/2.
So the total probability should be 1/2 x 1/2 = 1/4.
